Paddy Fred appeared as if from nowhere in 2013 with his debut EP ‘Laminate’, featuring friends and musical collaborators Estère and Alby Love (Louis Baker). Inspired by the West Coast beat-scene and a chance encounter with Flying Lotus and his creative cronies in their LA headquarters, Paddy Fred’s brand of surreal, psychedelic synth-soul hit a nerve – jumping straight into bNet radio charts as well as being dropped on high-profile international tastemaker blogs including XLR8R, Potholesinmyblog and Dots & Dashes
With his background playing in bands fuelling the thirst for an exciting live show, and with guitar, synth guitar and sampler in hand, Paddy Fred called in Pat Stewart (Pea Stew of Brockaflower) to play electric bass, synth bass, rhodes, organ, synthesisers and samples, Cam Steel to take on the drums and drum sampler, and Ned Worboys (Harbour City Electric) for live vocals.
